The task description

Gone are the days when men’s socks – closely followed by ties – were considered the ultimate unwanted Christmas present. For some time now, the colourful and patterned socks and stockings from the fashion label ‘von Jungfeld’ have been a way to make a fashion statement. It is part of stilfaser GmbH, founded in Mannheim in 2013, which has already embarked on a course of expansion after only a short time.

Four years after its foundation, the premium sock label can already be found in 650 shops across 11 countries. Thanks to its multi-channel strategy, the brand is represented in chain stores, fashion boutiques, independent retailers and online.

The solution

Following the DACH region, other countries will soon be able to enjoy these creative premium socks and stockings too. The young company can rely on a sound financing mix comprising a capital increase, bank loans and factoring. The latter is provided as a full-service solution by Germany’s largest bank-independent factoring provider: A.B.S. Global Factoring from Wiesbaden.

The result

To secure the necessary liquidity for further growth plans, the start-up relies not only on capital increases and bank loans but, in particular, on factoring. The sale of receivables enables the sock pioneers to convert outstanding receivables into predictable liquidity on a sustainable and ongoing basis.

However, the benefits of factoring go far beyond simply increasing liquidity for growth. It also provides significant relief for human resources. The cost-saving effect can be quantified in concrete terms: the equivalent of one full-time employee saved in financial accounting. Instead, all tasks associated with accounts receivable management are in highly professional hands at A.B.S. This frees up our clients to focus on their core business. Meanwhile, they can strengthen relationships with their customers and provide long-term relief for their own staff.

Since we started using factoring as a financing tool, it is not just our growth liquidity that has increased. Our resources have also been significantly relieved thanks to the outsourcing of accounts receivable management.
